30 Days to Race Day Checklist
We’re sharing tips to keep you on track now that we’re 30 days to race day:
- Registration details completed! Make sure your registration form is complete with boat and skipper details and documentation like the Under 18 Consent Form (for swimmers under 18 years) and/or evidence of a qualifying swim (if needed). If you’re a member of a duo or team, reach out to ensure that your team members have completed their registrations as well.
- Accommodation booked: Continue checking Rottnest Island accommodation as cancellations will occur and create new availability.
- Ferry travel booked: Secure your ferry tickets to return to the mainland. Also ensure that any supporters that want to cheer you on at the finish have ferry travel booked (see Rottnest Express timetable for race day below).
- Swimsuit (team bathers?) ready: Check out sponsor Swimtek for the latest arrival of Arena and full body suits or KC Australia’s special edition 2024 Port to Pub swimwear with artwork by Sarah Lodge.
- Practice your nutrition: It makes a huge difference on event day; solo swimmers should not do anything new with their nutrition on event day.
- Purchase appropriate seasickness medication: Test different medications until you identify something that works for you.
- Do your training: Ideally, teams should be training 3x pool and 1x ocean weekly; duos 3x pool and 2x ocean weekly; solos at least 5x pool and 1-2x long ocean swims weekly.
- Book a swimmer screening: Take good care of your bodies out of the water; sponsors PROmotion and Subi Sports Massage & Physio offer physio services and massages while Coastal Orthopaedic offers full orthopaedic care.
