Event Briefings

Overview

Solo swimmers and one swimmer representing every duo and team are required to attend an event briefing. Skippers and paddlers are also encouraged to attend an event briefing.

The main event briefing on 7 March 2024 at Claremont Showgrounds is compulsory for all solos and teams.

Its compulsory for all skippers to attend a briefing. There is a shorter briefing specifically for skippers on 11 March 2024, but skippers can attend any briefing.

Briefings outline key information for race day, including registration, race rules, skipper and paddler requirements, reports about the course, wave start times, cut-off times, first aid and important emergency information.

Swimmers will also collect their race packs, meet other swimmers, have a chance to talk about the event, and ask questions to organisers in person.

Main Event Briefing

7 March 2024 | Doors open at 5:00pm

  • 5:00pm Doors open for information, stall browsing, and socialising
  • 6:00pm Main briefing presentation
  • 6.30pm Port to Pub Artwork Auction for Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation
  • 6.45pm Race pack collection

Note on Parking

The Claremont Showgrounds charges a $10 per vehicle fee for parking within the showgrounds (see map below). To reduce/avoid this charge we encourage attendees to carpool or find an alternate form of transportation. There is parking available on some streets and lots outside the showgrounds; however, if you choose to park outside the showgrounds please ensure that you give yourself adequate time to get to Centenary Pavilion.

Description of Main Race Briefing

Presentation of event information and safety regulations. Swimmers will collect their official Port to Pub briefing book and competitor race packs. Race and sponsor stalls will be available for questions and purchases, including 2024 Port to Pub merchandise.

Skipper Briefing

11 March 2024 | 6:15pm – 7:00pm

Location: The View at Blue HQ

7-10 Mews Road, Fremantle WA

Description

All support vessel skippers are invited to this briefing in order to learn about event rules and understand the role of the skipper. Skippers are also invited to the Main Event Briefing; however, this briefing is a shorter option planned specifically for skippers.
