K&L Gates Corporate Cup

Be part of the K&L Gates Corporate Cup in 2019!

Family joins forces as first team to sign up for K & L Gates Corporate Cup

The Hare and the Tortoises, representing Kingwood Capital, were the first team to register for the 2019 K&L Gates Corporate Cup. In the team is Jack Newall, Dac Craig, Matt Craig, Emily Hamersley, Roddy Hamersley and Preston Hamersley.

The K&L Gates Corporate Cup is an event within the Port to Pub open to all corporate teams of two, four, or six. First across the line takes the honours to win the prestigious trophy,  cashprize and a framed photo of your team.

Hare and the Tortoises are raring to go, and are drawing on the experience of three of the team members who have completed in the Port to Pub for the past three years. And they’re keeping it in the family – the Hare and Tortoises are all related, by blood or marriage.  Team Captain, Jack Newall is married to Samantha, who is the sister of Roddy and Preston Hamersley. Preston is married to Emily. Dac Craig is Samantha’s uncle, and Matt is his son! (Did you keep up with us?!)

The team is currently training hard at Claremont pool several times a week.  Jack especially is keen to get back into the event, as he was a very late withdrawal in 2018, due to a broken elbow.

The team has signed up again as they love open water swimming and training for this event, and they cannot wait to get in the water in March 2019!

If you want to enter the Corporate Cup, just tick the box when you register to let us know you’re taking part and what firm you’re representing!

We are delighted to welcome back K&L Gates as a presenting sponsor of the Hotel Rottnest Port to Pub, and also the namesake of the K&L Gates Corporate Cup!
